Our History
Dajuan Wiggins is the Founder of the Youth Business Initiative (YBI). Inspired by the spirit of collaboration + entrepreneurship of the black Americans in the Greenwood District of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Dajuan sought to apply their success within his local community in Norwalk, Connecticut.
Knowing that Black Wall Street became an incredibly successful commercial district through black Americans pooling resources and investing in their community, Mr. Wiggins began to talk to business owners in Norwalk as well as youth living in his community to see how he could be part of the solution to close the opportunity gap and also increase the number of small businesses owned by BIPOC.

Entrepreneurship 101 StudentAt first I thought I wouldn’t fit in with anyone in the program except the people I knew, but it took some people to talk to me and relate with me to feel like I fit in. Ybi made me feel like I was a part of them for a long time and I’m glad to say I’m a member.
